Having something strange happen to your body can certainly be scary. Symptoms are the body’s way of telling us that something is wrong, and fortunately, what’s wrong isn’t always terribly serious. There’s no doubt that there are a whole host of symptoms that should concern you a great deal, and have you on the phone to your doctor as soon as possible, but other symptoms – as scary as they may seem – can normally be dismissed and will resolve on their own. The following list of symptoms may sound like they would be cause for concern, but are usually not anything to be worried about.

1. Heart Palpitations

Palpitations can take on a few different forms. Sometimes, it’s just an increased awareness of your heartbeat or a rapid heart rate. At other times, palpitations may involve skipping a few beats here and there. Anything to do with the heart has the potential to cause concern, but palpitations are usually quite temporary, and will normally just go away. Sometimes they result from strenuous physical activity, anxiety or reactions to medications. If they happen frequently, it may be worth consulting a doctor.
