The “C” word. Some of us are so afraid of the idea of getting cancer that we don’t even want to say the word, and it’s certainly not something you ever want to hear coming from your doctor! Most of us know someone who has died from cancer, and that makes it even more frightening. Since just about everyone would choose to avoid cancer if given the chance, it’s a good bet that a lot of people would be interested to hear about some tips that might make cancer less of a risk in their lives. Obviously there is no sure-fire way to completely avoid cancer but there are few things people can do to help reduce their risk.
1. Deal With Stress
Being stressed out all of the time is not good for your overall health, but in this particular instance we are focused on how stress can reduce the effectiveness of the immune system. The immune system is your most important ally in the fight against all sickness and disease and a suppressed immune system may increase your risk for cancer. Not every stress-reducing technique works for everyone so experiment with different ones until you find the one that works for you.
