Health trends come and go about as often as fashion trends. It seems like there is a new health trend that pops up every week, and people are always looking for new ways to improve their health and live better. Like with anything that becomes “trendy,” there are those that will go along with it just for that reason. The problem is that the experts who research health trends often change their minds about things. Numerous things that were once considered healthy are now considered unhealthy. It’s easy for people to get caught up in health trends, and they can become an integral part of their lives. The following health trends may have been considered beneficial at one time, but should probably be scrapped, or at least looked at much more carefully.

1. Fat Free

There are definitely certain fats people should avoid, such as hydrogenated oils, which are found in an abundance of processed foods. Many other fats which were declared dangerous years ago are not as bad for us as was once believed. Fats that are found naturally in meat and dairy products are considered much more healthy than they were just a few years ago, and we need a certain amount of fat in our diet to survive.
